Local records couldn't be read. A backup of the raw data was saved in this browser (DevTools → Application → Local Storage → keys starting with asset-tracker-records.corrupt.). Click Download backup to save it as a file. If you're connected to Dropbox, your records should restore on the next sync.
New version available. A newer build is deployed than what's running on this device. Reload now to update — safe to do, no unsaved data will be lost. Later snoozes for 24 hours.

Photo Tips

Tips for getting a good OCR scan

  • OCR only scans the FIRST photo — that must be the Data Tag (manufacturer nameplate). The other photos (Asset Tag, Circuit/System Tag, equipment shot) are kept for the record but not scanned. If you take photos out of order, drag the data-tag thumbnail to position #1 before tapping Scan.
  • Fill the frame with just the tag — crop out background
  • Shoot straight-on, not at an angle — text should look rectangular, not trapezoidal
  • Good even lighting; no flash glare on metallic tags
  • Hold steady — blur kills OCR
  • For stamped/etched/scratched tags, local OCR often can\'t read them. Cloud OCR (next phase) handles these.

How to use the photo buttons

Add/Take Photo — opens your device's photo sheet. Take a new shot with the system camera (flash, exposure work) OR pick one or more existing photos from your camera roll.
Multi-shot Camera — opens an in-app camera. Snap as many new photos as you want, then Done. No flash, but rapid-fire. Camera only — can't pick from camera roll.
Use × on a thumbnail to remove.

Asset Type

Picking an asset type below reveals only the fields the customer's CMMS expects for that type.
Local backup cache (this device only) — empty ▸
No photos cached locally yet.
Photos are also stored on Dropbox — this is a local copy that lets the ZIP backup work offline. Clearing the cache does NOT delete anything from Dropbox.
How to use this
  • Why it exists: photos you save get cached on this device so the Export ZIP backup button can build a complete archive even when you have no internet. It's also what makes thumbnails load instantly when you re-open a record offline.
  • Clear this folder — use when you finish a job and don't need offline access to that customer's photos anymore. Frees space tied to the current working folder only.
  • Clear all folders — use when device storage is tight and you want a hard reset. Asset records stay; photos still live on Dropbox. Next time you edit a record online, its photos quietly re-download.
  • Recommended workflow: right after exporting a ZIP backup at the end of a job, clear that folder's cache. You've got the ZIP + Dropbox as your two safety nets, and the device stays lean.
Handing this device to someone else?
The button below wipes everything from this device — saved records, cached photos, and the Dropbox sign-in. Dropbox copies are NOT affected. Use this when you're passing the tablet to a coworker or stepping away from a shared machine.

How Import / Export / Template work

Export ZIP backup — downloads a ZIP with <Location> assets_managed-by-app.xlsx (the spreadsheet, same name as the working file), records_managed-by-app.json (machine-readable copy the app manages), and every photo. Works fully offline. Use for archiving and for sharing a full snapshot. For a clean customer-facing copy use Publish Final Excel Copy instead.

The spreadsheet has one tab, "<Location> Service Channel Assets" — laid out exactly like Sprouts' ServiceChannel Template: a color legend, a REFRIGERATED ASSETS section, a NON-REFRIGERATED ASSETS section, and the two "Other" sections at the bottom for asset types that aren't on Sprouts' list. Every asset type gets its own green/grey/blue header row followed by its records. Grey columns are system-generated (left blank); blue columns carry the values Sprouts pre-populated (Warranty Starts From Install Date, Life Expectancy 84, Asset Status Confirmed…). This is the file you send to StoreCare.

Download Sprouts template — a clean copy of Sprouts' official workbook (Instructions, Template Headers with every column's definition, the ServiceChannel Template, a Completed Store Example, and the Print-Out Template sheets). Type setup data into the ServiceChannel Template sheet under the right asset-type header, save, then click Import. The app matches by Asset Tag.

Import Excel (ServiceChannel layout) — reads the interleaved header/record layout (this app's export or Sprouts' template sheet); older "Standardized View" exports still import too. The preview modal shows what will be created vs. updated before anything saves. Edit cells in an existing export → re-import → records update by Asset Tag. Don't change Asset Tag values in Excel (that creates a new record and orphans the old one — use the app's Edit button to rename a tag). Old asset-type names (bins, SUSHI CASE, ICE MACHINES) and old Area names are renamed automatically on the way in.

Reusing a prior site as a starting point — useful when a new site has similar equipment to one you've already walked:

  1. Grab the prior site's xlsx — either a published copy from the prior site's Dropbox folder root (named like <Location> Service Channel Assets 2026-05-14 1430.xlsx) or the <Location> assets_managed-by-app.xlsx from an Export ZIP backup. Do not use the working file in _AppRecords -Do not modify/ — the app will overwrite it on the next save. Save a copy of the xlsx
  2. Clear out per-site fields: Location, Install Date, Purchase Date, and any other job-specific values. Asset Tags too if the new site uses a different naming scheme
  3. Keep Brand / Model / Serial / Asset Type / signature fields — those are the reusable asset identity
  4. Save the file (keep the sheet name ending in Service Channel Assets)
  5. In the app, switch to the new site's Dropbox folder via the folder picker (double-check the destination banner in the import preview)
  6. Click Import Excel (ServiceChannel layout). Leave "Skip unconfirmed red flag" unchecked — you want each row flagged red so you remember to verify on-site
  7. Walk the site, edit + save each record. The red flag clears as you confirm each one

Use the xlsx, not the prior site's records_managed-by-app.json. The json carries photo paths and IDs that point to the old folder; the xlsx starts records clean with no photo references.
